Make 2025 the Year You Rediscover
Friends of Wollaston Beach
With the help of many community partners and volunteers, the 2025 Season is off to a great start! We love our beach and it’s clear you do too! We have planned a great many activities for kids of all ages and we are excited that so many hundreds of people get to enjoy this amazing resource we know as Wollaston Beach. See Upcoming Events for details of the many offerings on Wollaston Beach this season.
As we kick off the season, we look forward to hearing from you about how you enjoyed (or didn’t) our activities in 2024, as well as ideas for 2025.

We started the year off with two fabulous organized Spring Cleanups!
ParkServe Day – Inclement weather doesn’t seem to hinder the Friends of Wollaston Beach when it comes to cleanups. Over 70 volunteers blanketed the beach filling bags of trash. As with this cleanup in years past, we found lots very large pieces of timber, an especially huge piece of fibreglass — possibly from a boat as it also had a ladder — and, unfortunately, a couple of dead gulls. Kudos to the amazing cadets from the North Quincy High School Jr. ROTC, and their leader, M.Sgt. John Delorenzo, who managed to move the heavy items off the beach. Special thanks to the children who accompanied their parents. It’s shared lesson that we are never too young (or too old) to be good stewards of this wonderful resource. We are grateful.
Cleaner/Greener - Another group of about 70 volunteers came out to Caddy Park (across from the Beach) on a rather hot and sticky day. FWB was joined by a large group from First Presbyterian Church of Quincy. Thanks, Adam, for organizing this group. You were all terrific! Again, the North Quincy High School Jr. ROTC cadets were key to the success of this event which is part of the citywide cleanup day. And we were happy to see both new and veteran crews from the neighborhood going straight to work cleaning up the area. We had so many volunteers that some were able to do the beach across from the Park and give it some much needed love.
If you aren’t able to make an organized cleanup, we encourage you to grab a bag and pick up trash any time so we can continue to protect our wildlife and humans!
