PLEASE JOIN US for our last formal cleanup of the season. For over a decade, Friends of Wollaston Beach has joined with the Massachusetts Office of Coastal Zone Management (CZM) for the annual COASTSWEEP Cleanup. This year’s cleanup will take place on Saturday, September 19, 2026 - 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. Volunteers will meet at the parking area across from the Bath House on Quincy Shore Drive.
Coastsweep is a worldwide cleanup collecting marine debris, trash, fishing line, and other human-made items, and categorizing and tallying what is found. COASTSWEEP Massachusetts was formed in 1987. COASTSWEEP participants join hundreds of thousands of other volunteers in the world’s largest volunteer effort for the ocean — Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Cleanup. The data collected is used to find solutions for keeping trash out of the ocean.
“If you do only one cleanup per year, this should be it!” said FWB president, Maureen Mazrimas. “Preregistration is not required; it can be done on site. Bags and gloves will be provided.”
For further details, please go to friendsofwollaston.com. To join FWB or volunteer, please email Maureen Mazrimas at friendswollastonbeach@gmail.com. Dues are $10 per year and can be sent to Friends of Wollaston Beach, 49 Bayberry Road, Quincy, MA 02171 or by Venmo at: FWB Treasurer@Maureen.Mazrimas.
